Sustainable supply chain

Columbus carefully selects its strategic suppliers and is committed to involving and stimulating them in ESG initiatives. The goal of being sustainable, in fact, cannot be achieved without the involvement of suppliers, who for Columbus represent, together with customers and employees, the main stakeholders.

Columbus carefully selects its suppliers paying particular attention to their environmental, social and ethical policies. Some of the characteristics a supplier must possess to be sustainable include transparent labelling, low impact environmental practices, pollution reduction programmes, diversity and inclusiveness policies, support for human rights, attention to health risks, adherence to ethical standards and a long-term commitment to sustainability. The goal of being sustainable cannot in fact be separated from one's own supply chain, which is why we are committed to stimulating our suppliers and involving them in the Group's ESG initiatives. In order to better track our supply chain since the end of 2022, we use the Synesgy platform. This is an innovative tool through which the ESG sustainability rating of the parent company (in this case Columbus) and all its strategic suppliers is calculated and made visible. A choice made to guarantee maximum transparency to our clients, which is in addition to the choice to join Ecovadis made in 2021.
