Legislative Decree No. 116 of 3 September 2020 and Law No. 15/2022 require, as of 1 January 2023, that all packaging used be appropriately labelled in accordance with UNI technical standards and EU Commission determinations. The aim is to facilitate the collection, reuse, recovery and recycling of packaging and to provide consumers with information on the final destinations of packaging.
The Ministry of Ecological Transition has published Guidelines for Environmental Labelling, which specify that for neutral packaging, the labelling obligation can also be fulfilled by means of media outside the packaging, such as data sheets, transport documents or digital media.
